Route description

Step by step (Brecon to Brynich section)

    Brecon Canal Basin

    Start at the picturesque canal basin in Brecon, with boats, cafés, and views of Pen y Fan.

    Towpath South

    Follow the flat towpath south. The canal is lined with trees, stone bridges, and wildlife.

    Brynich Lock & Aqueduct

    Reach Brynich Lock, one of the most photographed spots on the canal. Continue to the Brynich Aqueduct, which carries the canal over the River Usk.

    Return

    Retrace your steps or continue further toward Talybont-on-Usk.
